How to know it’s time for dental visit for cleaning?
You should get a dental cleaning at least once every six months, but you may need to go more often if you have certain risk factors:
Signs of gum disease: Swollen, bleeding, or receding gums, or gums that hurt when you brush or chew
Bad breath: Persistent bad breath that others can smell
Tooth sensitivity: Pain or discomfort when eating or drinking hot, cold, sweet, or acidic foods and beverages
Plaque and tartar: A white or yellowish film on your teeth, or a hard, white substance where your gums meet your teeth
Oral sores: Lumps or sores that don't heal within a couple of weeks
Cavities: You might not realize you have a cavity until it's too late
You should also talk to your dentist if you have any new or concerning symptoms, like loose teeth or a toothache. The sooner you get treatment, the better your chances of improving your oral health.
